Can A Patch Of Faith Make Miracles Happen?

Search For God

Have you ever wondered how miracles happen? To my way of thinking they are an act of God.

Maybe if we had enough faith in God, we could help the miracle of his grace and kindness redound to our benefit. Maybe through faith, in our own small way, we could help make God’s miracles happen.

Sometimes it’s hard to have faith in what we cannot see or understand. That’s why I have used my imagination to create a patch of faith. I use it to symbolize my faith in God.

In order to create a symbol of faith, you have to strip away your inhibitions and use your imagination. Your own personal patch of faith can be anything from an imaginary friend to an object such as an actual patch.

Stop using temporary measures to deal with your weaknesses. Stop using chemical patches to pull yourself together. Find the faith to imagine the only patch you will ever need – a patch of faith.

You can find your own personal patch of faith by clicking on the “Find More Faith In God” link on the sidebar.

Searching For God

Are you tired of people declaring they are the only people of faith? Do you feel left out and left behind by people convinced that only they have a right to declare themselves people of faith? Have you ever wondered how some people can be so convinced that they are the only people of faith? Now you can do something about it to let people know that you too are a person of faith.

Don’t let other people push your feelings of faith in God in the background. You have a right to declare yourself a person of faith no matter how you believe in God. You are entitled to express yourself and let people know your true feelings. You have the God given right to believe in the Almighty any way that you wish.

Don’t deny yourself of the opportunity to show the world that you are a person of faith who believes in God and is searching for His guidance. Express yourself.

The Religious Significance of Faith-based Politics

The middle class is caught in a faith- based tax conundrum.

The middle class hasn’t benefited from recent tax cuts. Their net disposable income has decreased about two percent over the last two years during a time of sustained economic growth. Are only the rich entitled to be the beneficiaries of faith-based economic policies?

The American people are being told not to worry, that God will help us solve our economic problems, but I believe that God helps those who at least try and help themselves. If we are going to leave the success of our economic policies to God shouldn’t we give Him a vote?

It isn’t God who gave us an eight trillion dollar accumulated deficit. It isn’t God who is forcing our children to inherit a per capita debt of more than twenty-five thousand dollars each. It is the philosophy of using the excuse that “God will help us overcome” that has led us to a crisis of confidence on the part of the public. Maybe they understand something that our leaders have apparently forgotten -- God helps those that help themselves. Who put God in charge of our national debt? I thought that was supposed to be our problem?

Since when did feeding the poor and the homeless become the total responsibility of the Churches in this country? Did they volunteer for this assignment? Is this an abdication of the government’s responsibility? Who appointed charitable organizations as the surrogate government bureaucracy to oversee and be responsible for the economic problems of our society? I thought that was our responsibility under a government that inculcated the principal of separation of church and state.

When did the lines get blurred? Who decided that cutting student loans and health care research was a middle class friendly policy designed to cut our national debt? I find it hard to believe that God would decide to make these kind of anti-social cuts so that tax policies that benefit the rich could become entrenched because the administrators of these policies are people of faith. The middle class is caught in the bind of feeling they have to be in favor of these ‘give to the rich tax policies’ or be considered to be lacking in faith. Isn’t this taking the name and intentions of God in vain to justify unsound economic policies? Why assume that God has a social covenant with the current administration regarding economic policy just because they are people of faith.

Isn’t it time to start searching for God’s answer to this dilemma? Hurry, God may be waiting to hear that you are socially responsible.

How to Send an E-mail to God

A lot of us want to have more faith and get closer to God. The question is how do we do this? Maybe we should, strip away our inhibitions, unlock our imaginations, and send an imaginary e-mail to God.

Maybe you could send God an imaginary e-mail in the form of a prayer. After all, God is always interested in hearing our prayers, isn’t he? It is not the type of thing that you have to worry about him opting into. God is always listening.

How would we start? Perhaps the subject line could read, “Dear God hear my prayer.” No I am afraid that would be too long. How about, “Prayer to God” That might do the trick nicely and we would have no fear of spamming the recipient.

I think it is best to leave any request for help to the body of the text. What would you like to ask for? Good health is often a way to go, but I think you need to get more personal and specific then that.

How about telling God that you are tired of patching yourself together with temporary quick fixes to control your weaknesses like smoking, eating, or drinking too much? That should get Gods attention, don’t you think?

I wonder what God would say in an answer to us? Maybe he would tell us to stop trying to patch ourselves together and find more faith so that we could be strong enough to overcome our weaknesses with his help. Maybe we could use our imaginations to develop our own personal faith patch to replace all those other temporary patches and help us deal with our problems. Maybe we could use our faith.

You don’t have to worry about the address or click on the send button in this imaginary e-mail. I believe that God is always interested in hearing our prayers no matter what form they take.

Are you ready to send a message of faith to God?

You don’t have to worry about sending this e-mail to the wrong address because God is always with us and has a universal address. You don’t even have to type out this e-mail on your word processor. You can just think it.

Whatever you do, try and rely on your faith in God to help you overcome your weaknesses. Stop trying to patch yourself together. Try and find more faith so that you can learn to cope with your personal problems and the troubles of our time like terrorism and natural disasters.

Don’t forget to leave your personal signature in your e-mail to God. It’s not that he doesn’t know who you are; it is just that he may be waiting to hear that you are becoming a Person of Faith. It might help for you to mention this in your signiture block.
An example could read something like this:

Your name
Statement that you are becoming a Person of Faith
Statement that you believe in God
Your e-mail address (unnecessary)
Your telephone number (unnecessary)

God knows where to find you.

Are you ready to stop patching yourself together?

Are you ready to become a Person of Faith?

Are you searching for God? Hurry, He may be waiting to hear from you. Send Him an e-mail.

A Better Way

There has got to be a better way for everyone to find faith in God.

I’m getting really upset and confused with so many people arguing with each other over whose way to believe in God is the right way. Do you think this is what God wants? He loves all of us, doesn’t he? He must have known what he was doing when he gave us the freedom to choose how to believe in him.

I think our different views are just manifestations of the same reality that there is only one Supreme Being; one God for all of us to believe in. Isn’t that wonderful? Doesn’t it make you feel good to know you are entitled to make choices? Aren’t you happy to discover that you are a good and worthwhile person who has the right to choose how to believe in God?

Yes I know sometimes it seems we have more questions than answers, but God will give us the answers if we keep an open mind and listen to the words of the Almighty. In order to do that, we have to employ our imaginations.

Sometimes it takes a little imagination to believe in what we cannot see or understand. I like to imagine that I have conversations with God. In a recent discussion with God I dreamed he told me the following:

“ Let’s stop worrying about which path to my grace is the right way, and start having some faith in My ability to find a place by My side for all of you.”

I think that’s wonderful. I think that is something we can all believe in. There has got to be a better way to prove our faith in God than by arguing over which way is the right way to have faith. There has got to be a better way.

Have you been searching for your faith in God lately? Hurry, He may be waiting to hear from you no matter what your religious beliefs are. .

Sometimes God Makes Me Nervous.

I think he can see right through me.

Sometimes I wish I could hide from God. I don’t want Him to see how weak I am or the sins that I have committed.

I was sitting alone at my computer trying to come up with some brilliant material for an article on how to communicate with God when the thought occurred to me that God made me nervous. Far from searching for him, I think I have been spending most of my time running away from what I perceive to be His judgmental gaze. How weak can I be – how lacking of faith of me?

I know in my heart that God will forgive me for my sins, but to my mind they are so monumental that I still worry. I worry that God will recognize my sins. That he will see how selfish and self absorbed I really am, I worry that my faith in God won’t be strong enough to overcome my fears. I doubt. It seems to me that my doubt is the only constant theme to my search for God. Am I alone in my doubts and fears? Do you have doubts and fears too? Are you worried that God will see right through you?

In spite of my nervousness and fears, I have come to the conclusion that it’s all right to question one’s faith in God. I have decided that for myself it is an occupational hazard in my search for God. What about you, do you question your faith? Does God make you nervous? Are you afraid He will see right through you?

It’s all right. God knows our fears. He feels our pain. He understands our nervousness. I believe He is willing to forgive us for our weaknesses. In the meantime I will continue my search for God I think that my search for God is the only thing that will bring me peace of mind.

God Controls Our Ports

I have been giving a lot of thought lately to who should have control of our ports and what this means to my security. I have to admit that when the whole controversy started about an Arab country controlling our ports I was really angry. I’m not angry any more; I am just sad and scared.

If God didn’t want us to have control of our own ports, I don’t think He would have given us control of our Country. I don’t think it was His intention to transfer control of our national resources to any foreign country whether they are of Muslim, Jewish, or Christian origin.

To get right down to it, I don’t think that the freedom our forefathers fought for under God’s good grace should be put at risk by putting our national security in jeopardy. I don’t think God meant for us to put any of our national resources under anyone else’s control but His and us as His designated inhabitants of this great country.

In my search for God I have often asked myself why He allows good people to make bad decisions like transferring control of our ports to a foreign country. That’s what makes me sad and scared. I haven’t found a good answer.

Understanding God

I believe that I can hold conversations with God. In my dreams, He hears my prayers. His sweet words, they answer my questions.

I asked God why he allowed terrible things like natural disasters to kill so many innocent people? He answered me as follows.

“Because you do not understand, I forgive you.”

I do not understand dear God, Please forgive me.

God answered, “I know you do not understand. I see your fears. I know your prayers. I am always with you, but why do you doubt me?”

I doubt you because I do not understand? When will I begin to see the light?

God smiled. A flash of blazing glory crossed the horizon and he said, “Be of good faith. You must believe, then you will begin to understand.”

I find it hard to believe in that which I cannot see or understand dear God.

God said, “If you have enough faith you will learn to understand. And if you have enough faith you will recognize my glory that is within you.”

With this last pronouncement a warm glow of pure joy seemed to fill every fiber of my being and I said, “thank you dear God.”

And God said, “be not afraid because I am always with you. I have given you the ability to think independently. Use this gift wisely.

Thank you God, but how can I use your gift wisely if I do not understand?

God replied, “If you have enough faith you will begin to understand. If you have enough faith, all things are possible. Why do you question me?”

I have so many questions dear God. When will I begin to know the answers?

“When you are ready, when you have evolved into the thinking human being I meant you to be,” God replied.

I feel that I have been ready to believe in you my entire life dear God.

God said, “Than where is your faith? Why do you question me who has created you?

I do not have the answer dear God; all I have is more questions.

God said, “If you still question me than you do not have enough faith in yourself. For I have made you in my image.”

At this point I felt as if the whole world was shaking and trembling. I asked God if he was mad at me?

God said, I am not mad, I share your pain, I share your dreams, I know your frustrations, why do you still question me?

Dear God, I do not know why I am so insecure. I only know that I wish with all my heart to believe in you.

God chuckled and the whole nights sky seemed to light up with his merriment. He said, “You will, for I believe that you are evolving into a good and worthwhile person.”

I told God that I found it hard to believe that God had faith in me considering all the weaknesses of spirit that I suffered from.

God said, “You are entitled to be a Person of Faith because I created you in my own image just as all of these seemingly random acts of nature are part of my grand design for the evolution of your world in the interests of the greater good. Do not question my intent.

With this a feeling of pure bliss took hold of me. I felt a sense of contentment and peace of mind that I had never known before. All I could do was to murmur, “Thank you dear God.”

God encompassed me and said, “Why has it taken you so long to find my grace? Why have you had to fight yourself to become a Person of Faith?”

I guess even God has questions when it comes to dealing with his own creation.

God must have heard me for he said, “It is all part of my grand design. As you begin to evolve into the thinking human being that I have created you to be, you will begin to understand. Tell all your friends that question their faith that they are all part of my creation. They are part of my grand design.

I didn’t want to tell God that I still didn’t understand why bad things happen to innocent people, so I decided to take his pronouncement as correct as a matter of faith. He must have heard my thoughts because He said,

“Now you are starting to get the message, spread the word.”

Searching For Answers From God

Maybe we have to learn to ask our questions differently if we expect to get a response from God.

Perhaps it’s time to stop asking God what he can do for us and start asking what we can do to help make God’s Kingdom flourish. Maybe part of finding answers from God is a matter of us learning to take a lesson from God and to start to deal with our own questions – to come up with our own answers based on His teachings.

Let’s see if we can’t come up with our own answers to some questions we would normally look to God for the answers to.

Question: Why do bad things happen to good people?

Answer: Because we participate in creating an environment of fear and distrust which breeds the framework for bad things happening.

Question: Can God promise me good health?

Answer: Couldn’t we help insure our own good health by practicing habits that will promote our good health?

Question: Can God make us feel more secure?

Answer: If we have faith in God won’t that help make us feel more secure?

Question: Why do our answers end in more questions?

Answer: Could it be that we do not have enough faith in our own answers? Couldn’t it be that God has already given us the answers to our questions? Couldn’t it be that it is up to us to understand God’s answers to our questions?

Perhaps searching for answers from God is an answer to finding our faith in and of itself.

Searching For God

I feel like I have spent most of my adult life sinning and than searching for God to find salvation. What about you are you secure in your faith or are you searching for God also? Are you a sinner looking for salvation, or a person of faith who is beyond reproach? Most of us I think are both.

Maybe even doubters and sinners are entitled to be people of faith. Could it be that it’s a matter of intent? Could it be that wanting to find God counts?

I have been searching for God in all kinds of places. I have looked for Him in organized religions, in the traditions of my parents, and in the teachings of many wise gurus. With years of practice in searching for God under my belt, I have decided that the search for God is a deeply personal thing. It is a quest whose journeys end will be dictated by using your imagination and awakening the deepest feelings of your innermost soul.

I have come to the conclusion that we can share the search, we can share our thoughts, but must each find their faith in God in our own way.

It’s a matter of perception. It’s a matter of how much you can use your mind and heart to determine your version of God. Many will tell you that there is only their way to God. Many will tell you that you have to follow a set format. But I believe you have to follow your instincts in your search for God. You must determine for yourself what God means to you.

We can share the journey, but it is you alone that can find the faith in God that you perceive that you are searching for – the God of your dreams.

In different perceptions of God, we can even share believing.

If you want to search together, come take my hand, but the God you are searching for is of your minds making.
