The Faith Attracter Factor

Search For God

Are you making yourself attractive to God? Would you like to make yourself irresistible to God? All you have to do to accomplish this is to become a believer – A Person of Faith.

And just as God will be attracted to be by your side, your faith in him will attract you to the ways of our common Lord.

I think that as a Person of Faith you will find yourself more attractive to all people of good faith as well. Don’t you want to share a common bond with other people of good faith? Don’t you want to feel wonderful?

It’s time for you to step out and fulfill your promise. Do the good works that can benefit those you care about and society in general. It’s time for you to step out and make yourself attractive to God.

Being a Person of Faith is something you can do something about every day. Start to take ‘little leaps’ of faith in order to get closer to God.

Start to become an operative of God. When you do you will gain a sense of satisfaction that you have never known before. You will begin to feel fulfilled. You will begin to feel more secure.

You will be able to cope with the troubles of our time like terrorism and natural disasters. You will begin to follow in the footsteps of God.

Now is the time to go into action, and this is a call to action. Imagine that God is calling you to be all that you can be. Aren’t you attracted to God and to the opportunity to do his good works?

Genetically Predisposed to Faith

Search For God

Have you ever wondered how much faith you really have? If you are like me there have been times in your life when you question how much faith you have: times when you doubt your ability to cope with personal difficulties, and times when the threat of terrorism or natural disasters feels overwhelming. This is the time to strip away your inhibitions and use your imagination to find more faith.

We are all genetically predisposed to have faith. It is a gift from God. The instinct to have faith is as strong as our will to survive. It is in fact part of our survival mechanism. Without faith we do not have the courage to go on. Without faith we have no hope. Without faith we cannot fulfill the promise that is within each of us to do something worthwhile with our lives. That is why God instilled in us the need to have faith.

Your imagination is a reflection of what your subconscious mind or soul is thinking. These thoughts creep into your mind when you first wake up or interject themselves into your thinking at odd times of the day with seemingly no reason or continuity to what you were doing of thinking about. Don’t discount these thoughts out of hand. Don’t let years of rigid adherence to a particular way of thinking stop you from finding more faith. Don’t let it stop you from finding new ways to get more faith. I don’t believe that God cares about labels. I think it’s what is in your heart that counts.

When you strip away your inhibitions you will discover that you are a good and worthwhile person who is entitled to have faith. You are entitled to feel good about yourself. God gave us our imaginations, which allow us to worship him in any way that we believe is right. God in his infinite wisdom gave us the right to make choices. He must have known what he was doing.

Try and strip away your inhibitions and imagine how wonderful it would be to have faith in the Almighty without any preconditions. Try and imagine that God in his wisdom allows the natural evolution of nature to take its course as part of the creation of his grand design. Try and believe in that which we cannot see or understand. Try to use your imagination to listen to the words of the Lord so that you may begin to understand.

Are you deep down in your heart a faith seeker? Do you hunger to have more faith? Are you willing to strip away your inhibitions and use your imagination to help you find more faith in the one Supreme Being? You don’t have to be hesitant anymore. You are not alone in your quest to find more faith. You don’t have to be afraid to have your desire to become a person of faith exposed. We are all stripped naked in the eyes of God. We are all creatures of his divine creation. We can all become people of faith. We can all learn to express our faith in God.

Immigration – Using God’s Inspiration To Solve The Problem

Search For God

Is our current Immigration open door policy providing a fertile hunting grounds for terrorists or is the spirit of “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” still alive and well in God’s country?

Talk about “huddled masses”, what do you call twelve million illegal immigrants? Is this what the poet Emma Lazarus had in mind when she used the term?

I have an idea, why don’t we just impose a huge illegal immigrant tax. We could probably eliminate our national debt in no time at all. The only problem with this self defeating strategy is that then no one would want to come to this country. Perhaps we should make it a both ways border tax. That way we could charge these illegal immigrants coming and going. There is nothing illegal about that is there?

We could also double the minimum wage, in which case the farmers might automate and eliminate the need for cheap labor. Our food prices would rise, inflation would set in, unemployment would grow, and our own citizens might become more willing to take low paying jobs again, thus eliminating the need for immigrants altogether except from a ‘ do the right thing’ point of view. What about granting them all amnesty? Amnesty from what? I thought everyone has a right to pursue the American dream. What does a guest worker program mean? I thought you had to live here to work here. So many choices, it is hard to know which to choose

Perhaps if we stopped offering illegal immigrants free health care and schooling for their children we could reduce the flow substantially, but I am afraid we might run the risk of growing our own illegal immigrant terrorists from this formerly hard working lot who would become upset at the lack of equal social services being supplied to them. Besides, we probably don’t have enough buses in this country to send twelve million people home and we surely can’t expect them to walk although that is how many of them got here. Do you think this whole problem is part of a French conspiracy? After all they sent us the Statue of Liberty on which Emma Lazarus’s poem is inscribed. I doubt it. It seems unlikely given that they have their own immigration problems.

What does the temporary or guest worker program proposed by the President and by some in congress really mean? Does it mean that illegal immigrants will have to work in this country until they are granted citizenship and then can stop working and go on welfare or refuse to take the low paying jobs that some corporations originally hired them for. What’s to stop these twelve million illegal immigrants from forming their own unified union and going on strike for higher wages and pension plans. Can illegal immigrants have 401K plans? Can they take tax deductions on their tax returns for foreign travel as a business expense? So many questions and no one seems to have all the answers. What would happen to our trade deficit if these people stopped buying American goods that are made in China? This thing has ramifications that none of us may have thought of. Is this what Emma Lazarus was alluding to when she said, “I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Are we the golden scapegoat for the world? Why not try to reverse the trend by helping Mexico employ their own citizens at a good living wage. We could even institute a buy Mexican policy. It might be cheaper than buying goods from China considering that we wouldn’t have to pay long distance freight charges.

What should we do to protect ourselves from foreign terrorists who might sneak across the border with all the peaceful and hard working immigrants? Perhaps we should install an honor system instead of a wall of National Guard troops on their two-week summer tour of duty. We could ask all the illegal immigrants to report any terrorists crossing over with them – anonymously of course. Another approach that might work is to require all illegal immigrants to travel lightly. We should limit them to one small carry across the border type bag and allow nothing big enough to conceal a bomb. Probably something the size of a passport wallet would be safe.

Another approach would be to make Spanish our primary language instead of English. That way so many of us wouldn’t be able to understand our utility bills that we might have to migrate to England to find a commonly spoken language, then let’s see who revolts against whom. The only problem with this scenario is that the Muslim minority in England might object to being overpowered by a new bunch of migrating American Christians. I almost forgot to mention the negative affect this transmigration might have on our national sovereignty, but then we are not talking about a flock of birds, are we? We are talking about a mass of humanity. When Emma Lazarus spoke of “the wretched refuse of your teaming shore”, do you think she had us, or the illegal immigrants in mind?

You might well ask where God comes into this whole mess. I believe it goes back to my belief that this is God’s homeland every bit as much as it is ours. I can almost see Him using the poet Emma Lazarus’s famous words, “send these the homeless, tempest-tost to me” as His own. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if God put those words in Emma Lazarus’s mind. Maybe we should find a way to honor the words of the poet and the thoughts of God at the same time. How about making all these illegal immigrants legitimate citizens of God’s world. They are anyway, aren’t they? There has got to be a better way to protect the rights of American citizens and at the same time give comfort to these struggling masses of immigrants. Can we look to God for the inspiration to find the answers?

The War In Iraq - Is This God's Will?

Search For God
Is bringing democracy to Iraq in accordance with God’s wishes? I’ve heard a lot about God’s Kingdom, but I never heard anyone call it God’s parliament or congress. When did the concept of spreading democracy and freedom in the Middle East become a basis for faith in the righteousness of going to war? When did God sanction the concept of a preemptive war to promulgate American interests? When did this war become God’s will?

When President Bush was asked by Bob Woodward of the Washington Post if he had consulted with the former President before ordering the invasion of Iraq, Bush replied that, “ he is the wrong father to appeal to in terms of strength; there is a higher father that I appeal to.” But can we hold God responsible for everything. I think that sometimes we have to take responsibility for our own actions.

I think that people that go to war usually believe that they have God on their side no matter which side they are on. But does God actually take sides in conflicts that involve different philosophies or religious beliefs? Aren’t we all God’s children? Why would He want us to fight with and kill each other?

I always thought that both Christian and Muslim religions preached love and kindness for other people. Perhaps it is the more radical elements within each religion that preach the concept of my way or the highway. Is it the will of the people to allow our religious beliefs to be radicalized or have we allowed small fanatical elements in both religions to seize control of our emotions and force us into a war we really don’t want and don’t believe in, using the name of the Almighty whether it is God or Allah.

Recent polls indicate that more than sixty percent of the American public doesn’t believe in the war with Iraq. The cost of the war includes twenty-four hundred Americans killed, seventeen thousand wounded, and more than thirty thousand Iraqis killed. Is this terrible price in terms of lost humanity God’s will? The cost of the war in money to America is more than six billion a month, presumably at the expense of domestic social projects. The cost in suffering and stress to all people of good faith seems to me to be incalculable and too high. Is it God’s will that America bring freedom and liberty to the whole world whether or not they want to be liberated?

Recent surveys indicate that approximately eighty percent of Iraqis want American forces out of their country. They view us as occupiers not liberators. If democracy in some form is to come to Iraq, I don’t believe Americans can force it down their throats. The country seems poised at the brink of a civil war. We had our own civil war. I don’t think it is our business to participate in another countries internal conflicts. One has to question whether our participation in what may well turn out to be a fiasco in the name of democratization is really God’s will.

How can we justify or rationalize creating insecurity in another country to foster a greater sense of security in our own country? Is this God’s will? I think that instead of forcing our opinions and western style democratic beliefs on people of other religious backgrounds in Muslim countries, we would be better served to learn how to live in peace with people who do not have a democratic tradition and do not share our philosophies or beliefs on separation of church and state in government. Is it God’s will to remake Muslim beliefs into an American style Christian-Judaic political ethic?

Perhaps it is time to turn inward and look into our own souls to find the mercy and kindness that I believe to be God’s will. Perhaps it is time for America to stop trying to remake the world in our own image. Perhaps it is time to give peace a chance. Perhaps it is time to try asking God for his guidance in this matter instead of predetermining and interpreting His will in accordance with our own personal desires and philosophies. Maybe what we have to do is to have a little more compassion and understanding for other people’s point of view.

Sick And Tired

Search For God

I’m sick and tired of people telling me what to think and how to believe in God. It’s my choice and I think it is your choice too. Why can’t people be happy with the belief systems they have and stop trying to impose their views on other people. It’s none of their business what my politics are and how I choose to worship the Almighty.

I also believe that if people were a little less absolute in their opinion of how this world should be run, we might all be in better shape.

Let’s stop telling other people what to do. Let’s just ask them to be kind and caring towards each other. Let’s allow everyone to decide for themselves what their beliefs are.

I think when we do this we will soon realize that we have more in common than we thought. We have a common bond as human beings. We have a common interest in making our world a better place. Let’s express it in a search for the God of our individual dreams.

Do you have Faith?

Search For God

I think that most of us believe in God in one way or the other. The real question is how strong is your faith in Him? Shocking God

Search For God

God must be shocked at what He sees going on around here.

People killing each other for different religious philosophies. Suicide bombers blowing themselves and innocent people up to prove a point. People fighting for the right to live in the part of God's country that they want to call home. Big corporations selling God's resources for outrageously high prices.

Where will it all end? Is this what God wants, or are we making a mess out of His grand design? Nobody seems to have all the answers, but God does. Isn't it time we started listening to the words of God? Isn't it time we started searching for His answers to help us solve our problems?

Mind Meld of The Magic Genies.

Search For God

Sometimes it takes a little fantasy to help us understand that the conflict between different religious beliefs in the East and the West has reached critical proportions

“Stretched across the vast ineptitude of my soul, I see the ever present temptation of resurrection. I can take no more of new beginnings. Can you not see how vague is our horizon? Doesn’t the glare of mankind’s failure wrench you from your thoughts of a better tomorrow? Glorious, my irascible Magic Genie brother, where are we in the cosmic theme of things? What is there left for us to do? Standing here on a transparent cloud of nature’s quirky design, what can we hope to find in the future? When will God tell us what to do?”

“My old friend Gali, my magical soul mate, my Magic Genie brother, you are as ever the old world philosopher. We can try again. We can search for a better time. We have less than nothing else to do. We can put our minds together and deduce a new beginning, if not at the very beginning, at least not at the end of humanity. Let’s meld our purpose and share the provisions of our hearts and minds to reinstate the possible. God will give us guidance.”

“I see nothing but shadows Glorious. My thoughts are too disheartened for a meeting of our minds to do any good. Woe is me, where has all the magic gone?”

“It has left us at the entranceway of a new beginning my dear friend Gali if we can only find our way. We must try again. It is God’s will.”

“But they are all gone Glorious, all our friends, their culture, their very humanity. We cannot expect to resuscitate civilization with our own shaky salvation.”

“ I guess Gali there is nothing left to do but have faith. What else is left to us?”

“Maybe you are right Glorious. What else can we do but have faith. I will try again with you. Come, join your thoughts with mine and we will try to begin again. Together we will resonate as one voice; one thought in our attempt with God’s help to resurrect humanity.”

“That’s the spirit Gali. After all, we are nothing if not free spirits.”

“This mind meld must be working Glorious. You are starting to sound like me.”

“And you Gali are starting to think like me. Isn’t it wonderful? Together we shall find the power for humanity’s salvation, and maybe even our own redemption. I can feel it, can’t you? The old magic is coming back. A new future is in the making. May we find a better way to be civilization’s guardians this time under God’s good grace. May we begin again.”

“Can you perceive it Glorious? Can you sense the strength returning to our spirit? Can you not see the vale of despair lifting? Where shall we start my old friend?”

“We must start before the final bombs fall Gali. We must go back in time. We must change the ending to find a new beginning.”

“I see, would that it were ever thus. Can we do this Glorious?”

“Do we have a choice Gali? “What are they waiting for?”

“They are waiting for final instructions Glorious. Here on the frozen Tundra of Siberia they are waiting for the command to let loose the final bombs that will end the world.

“Where will the orders come from Gali? What can we do to stop them? Why are they fighting?”

“They are fighting for different ways of life. They are fighting for religious principals. The orders will come from bunkers buried deep in the earth far from here where men of fanatical endeavor will give the orders. We can only stop them if we can show them that there is no one right way. We must show them that there has got to be a better way than destroying humanity to prove whose way is right. We must reinvigorate them with the possibility of a better tomorrow. We must give them hope Glorious. And we must do so quickly. Time my old friend is not on our side this day. We will have to split up. You must go to the West. I will go to the East. We must get them to stand down. Hurry, we are almost out of time. They are about to destroy the world. There will be nothing again - no humanity, no civilization, no hope for the future. I do not believe this is how God would have it.”

“How will I know what to say Gali?”

“Remember we are of one mind Glorious. We shall know each other’s thoughts. We shall speak as one mind. Hurry, we must find a better way. God will give us the words.”

Stop Patching Yourself Together

Search For God

A little kid came over to me at a Girl Scout meeting, and asked me if I could help her get her father to stop smoking, and would I recommend a Patch? I told her I normally don’t deal with children. I have enough trouble dealing with adults who are mostly children at heart, but I would make an exception in her case, and talk to her father if she promised not to tell anyone. I am not going to make this into a children’s hour. I spoke to her father and told him to stop patching himself together and have Faith he could stop smoking on his own. He told me he had no Faith in his ability to do so and that is why he smoked and drank. He was trying to forget how little willpower he had.

I told him I was going to repeat over and over, “you can’t win them all. You can’t expect everyone to have Faith.” I told him I had to go now. I was late for a Faith Building group therapy session for severely rattled Magic Genies who have spent too much time dealing with faithless people like him. I hope his little girl is OK. At least I don’t have to worry about your children too, do I? Stop patching yourself together. Get some faith in God to help you deal with your weaknesses.

This is an excerpt from my book “The Magic of Faith" about a faith building Magic Genie named Glorious. To preview it just go to “Find Faith” on the side bar or access http://www.faith123.com.

A Good Lesson To Share With Your Children

Search For God

One evening a wise old man told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between the two wolves inside each of us.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which one wins?"

Grandfather simply replied, "The one you feed."

STARTING OVER

Search For God

This could be a new beginning for all of us. I love new beginnings, don’t you? Starting over is such fun. You get the chance to make the same old mistakes in a brand new way. VIRUSES, TERRORISM, AND BELIEFS

Search For God

I have been swamped, deluged and inundated with people’s thoughts telling me they are frightened by the possibility of terrorist attacks. They are scared of airmail toxins, viruses and nuclear explosions ruining their health and jeopardizing their lives. I am telling you people I don’t do illnesses, only social diseases. My only answer to you is to have Faith. We will overcome adversity.

Speaking of social diseases, there is one that is causing quite a stir. On this I am definitely a non- expert expert. It is called the Ostrich Virus. It isn’t airborne, but this insidious social disease leap frogs from credit card to credit card, leaving their wealthy owners trembling in fear of losing their material possessions. If you want the cure stop worrying so much about your assets.

Are you in fear of losing your possessions? If so, you are just causing the virus to spread. Do you judge your accomplishments solely in monetary terms? Come alive my friends, having Faith will give you all the credit you need. There, don’t you feel more secure now? Doesn’t having Faith make you feel prosperous? You will if you just believe in God.

Faith Or Inspiration – Which Comes First?

Search For God

Do you start out with faith in God or do you have to be inspired to search for Him? Where does the inspiration to believe in God come from? It seems everyone has an answer, but which answer is right?

I believe it depends on who is asking the question. If you are a person that is well grounded in your religious beliefs then faith probably comes first. If you are searching for God, then perhaps you need to be inspired to help you find your way.

I like to believe that we are all inspired to find our faith in God. To me it is a natural human instinct perhaps facilitated by an inborn genetic code or gene. I like to believe that the inspiration to find God comes from the Almighty Himself.

I think the inspiration comes from our need to experience God’s grace, to find inner peace, and to develop a sense of serenity. I think it comes from our need to seek God’s help in coping with our problems. I think it comes from a desire to believe that there is something more to our lives than the short span of our own mortality. I think it comes from a need to be assured that there is a Heaven.

Whatever inspires us to find our faith in God; the fact is that we do have the need to believe. Most of us have to believe in a higher power to make our lives tolerable. We want to have faith because it helps us achieve inner peace of mind. We are inspired to have faith because we want to succeed in our journey to find God.

May God grant us the strength and the inspiration and the faith to succeed in our search on a journey that never ends – the search to find God.

Stop Beating Yourself Up

Search For God

It is time to stop berating yourself because other people claim they are the only people of faith, and you don’t think you have the right to make the same claim. You have as much right as anyone else to be a person of faith as long as you believe in God in your own way.

Being a person of faith is not a matter of which religion you adhere to, it is a matter of what is in your heart. If you truly believe in God, then you have the right to claim that you are a person of faith.

Isn’t it time you started letting people know that you are a person of faith?

Chapter 2 Stripping Away Your Inhibitions Part 3

Search For God

You have to learn:
1. Not to give in to your fears that something will go wrong if you do not follow a set format. Don’t be afraid to change lifelong patterns of behavior.
2. You have to start to believe in yourself. Admit to yourself that you are a good and worthwhile person who is entitled to have his or her dreams come true.
3. Exercise your right to conjure up from the deepest resources of your mind those imaginative thoughts that can improve your life and those of your loved ones.
4. Analyze those imaginative thoughts that may seem out of context with your basic beliefs, and see if you can find a way to reconfigure them so that they can provide a framework for you finding more faith in God. Use these released thoughts to help you find more faith. Use your God given right to make a choice.

Stripping away your inhibitions can help you open your heart to God. It can help make you feel free. It can help you find more faith. I know that you’re thinking that it’s hard to change. But sometimes it is harder to stay in the rut of limited possibilities. Take the easy course to finding more faith in God, and strip away your inhibitions.

Chapter 2 Stripping Away Your Inhibitions Part 2

Search For God

Why else would the good Lord have given us the power of independent thought? Why else would He allow us the right to make choices about how we believe in him? Strip away your inhibitions and allow freedom of choice to frame a new response to your quest for more faith.

Most of us do things out of a sense of tradition. Many of us belong to organized religions that provide us with rules to live by. This is good because it gives us a basic set of values and beliefs, but we have to learn to go beyond what we have been told in order to discover what we truly believe. We have to learn to question ourselves to help us find more faith. We can use our traditional beliefs to help us form a foundation for finding more faith. We have to strip away our inhibitions so that we can expand out horizons.

In order for you to unlock your imagination and realize your promise, (that which is special about each of us individually), that each of us has to do more with our lives, you have to strip away years of inhibitions that have been keeping you from fulfilling your dreams.

Chapter 2 Stripping Away Your Inhibitions Part 1

Search For God

Do you ever wonder if you are doing the right thing? When you learn how to strip away your inhibitions you will learn what your options are, and which ones are right for you to follow.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that let’s you understand that only God can decide what is right and what is wrong.

Many of us spend too much time trying to live by a set of rigid standards that inhibit us from discovering our true feelings. It’s important to have a moral set of standards by which we live our lives, but we shouldn’t be so set in our ways that we aren’t willing to explore new thoughts and formulate new patterns of behavior.

Stripping away our inhibitions starts with a question. Ask yourself why am I doing things this way? Ask yourself if there is a different and better way for me to think about my life and its purpose so that I can find more faith. Ask yourself if you are doing things in a certain way solely because of family traditions or because of religious background or because you truly believe in the code of conduct you are adhering to. If you are secure in your beliefs as they are now you probably wouldn’t be reading this to help you find more faith. Allow yourself to question why you do what you do and how you can expand upon good and worthwhile traditions and religious beliefs to help you find more faith. Open your heart to God.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that allows you to admit to yourself that there may be more than one way to find God.

Motivated And Inspired To Find God

Search For God

When was the last time you found yourself really motivated to find God? When did you have finding God on your top ten list of things to do? When was making a search for the God of your dreams a top priority? When was the last time you felt inspired to search for God?

You need to get motivated to find God. You need to understand how important a part God plays in your life. You need to get inspired to find your faith.

You remember what being truly motivated feels like, don’t you? The feeling you get when you are absolutely convinced that you can do no wrong, the feeling that takes over your mind and your soul when you become convinced you have to have some possession, or relationship, or new job. You remember that a key part to your becoming motivated was your firm belief that you could do it, that you had the ability, and of course that you had the motivation to accomplish your goal.

Sometimes we have to use our imagination to motivate us to find the God of our dreams. Sometimes we have to imagine how wonderful it will make us feel to become people of faith. Sometimes we have to invent a symbol of our faith in God to motivate ourselves to find the inner peace that believing in God can bring us. Sometimes we have to create something special to help inspire us to feel wonderful.

In my case I was inspired to create a faith-based Magic Pill to help motivate me to find my faith. Couldn’t we all use a little magic and faith in our lives right now? As a gesture of my faith in my fellow man I have infused this Magic Pill with my faith for all to share if you can believe that. When you infuse it with your faith it will become a unique collectible that may help motivate and inspire you in your search for God. It even comes with faith building instructions and a Certificate of Sharing so that you can express your faith in God to a family member or loved one. You can get your own Magic Pill free on my Web site to help motivate and inspire you.

Chapter 1 – Part 4 – Imagination

Search For God

In order for you to unlock your imagination you have to:
1. Make note of your secret dreams and desires, and ask yourself why you shouldn’t try to fulfill them. Some of them may open up a whole new path to your finding more faith.
2. Concentrate on the strange thoughts that pop into your mind, and do not discount them out of hand. Some of them may contain the seeds to your finding more faith.
3. Ask yourself what would happen if you were to pursue some of these thoughts and dreams. Would they help make you a better and happier person?
4. Try and separate in your mind those truly imaginative thoughts that can help make you a better and happier person from the others that make no sense to you or have no moral value.
5. Use your newfound imagination to do something constructive and wonderful with your life. Start to care.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that allows you to believe in what you cannot see or understand by using your imagination to help you conceive of what you cannot comprehend.

Wouldn’t you like to put a little magic in your life right now – use your imagination?

Chapter 1 – Part 3 – Imagination

Search For God

Now imagine what you would like to do to help other people. You can’t become a Person of Faith without caring about other people. You are a good and worthwhile person, aren’t you? You do want to help others, don’t you? It could help make you a worthy person in God’s eyes.

Take a ‘little leap’ of faith and start to care about your loved ones and friends.

Are you inhibited from using your imagination because you believe it will lead you into a flight of fantasy?

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that will help you recognize that sometimes it takes a little fantasy to believe in what we cannot see or understand.

Do you think it’s a way to avoid reality? Don’t be inhibited. Strip away your inhibitions and allow yourself to understand that your imagination is real. It is the way your subconscious mind or soul thinks about things. It is a way for you to reveal your inner most thoughts to yourself. Sometimes we have to put these thoughts into some type of logical pattern. That requires analyzing what we really meant by these thoughts. That requires putting aside some of the set rules we have about what is acceptable to think about and what isn’t. That requires us to strip away the inhibitions of a lifetime so that we can see more clearly a pathway to God.

Chapter 1 -- Part 2 -- Imagination

Search For God

Are you stressed out trying to do things perfectly, and trying to control everything that happens in your life? I used to be that way until I used my imagination to accept the fact that only God could be in control all the time. Do the best that you can, and relax in the realization that you can’t be in control all the time.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that will put your trust in the Almighty and help you understand that only God can be in control all the time.

Use your imagination to put your fate in his hands – relax. Your faith is in his hands anyway.

Did you ever stop to imagine that maybe God is waiting to hear from you? Think about what you would like to say to him. Do you want his help and guidance? You can ask God for anything, and if you have enough faith your prayers will be answered. That’s how a Person of Faith feels. Wouldn’t you like to feel that way too? You can if you have enough faith. Imagine how wonderful believing that your prayers will be answered would be.

CHAPTER 1 -- Your Imagination -- Part 1

Search For God

Have you ever had a strange thought pop into your head right after you wake up in the morning or at almost anytime of the day or night? Don’t dismiss these thoughts because you feel they are weird and out of context to what you really think. Don’t dismiss them out of hand because they don’t fit in with the rules and code of conduct by which you guide your life and beliefs. They may be the inner workings of your subconscious mind or soul trying to tell you to reach out to discover what you really believe or think. These thoughts may be your imagination trying to help you recognize how you really feel. Don’t make quick judgments that they don’t reflect how you feel about your faith.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that will lead you to understand that only God has the right to sit in judgment.

Explore your true feeling. Try and put them into a framework of what you really believe. Try to use your imagination. It is God’s gift to you. It will help you find more faith.

Introduction To The Faith Patch Manual

Search For God

I believe I know what you are thinking. I can sense it. My imagination tells me that you are searching for inspiration. You want peace of mind. You want to stop worrying about the troubles of our time. You want to be secure. You want to have more faith in God. I believe that by stripping away your inhibitions and unlocking your imagination you can realize your goals. Let’s go on a trip together to help you find more faith. Let’s begin a journey to help you feel wonderful. Let’s begin a quest to help you get inspired to find the magic of faith.

Beginning is always the difficult part, isn’t it? Deciding where to start and whose advice to follow can create problems and lead to indecision. Let’s start by using our imaginations to help us find our faith. Remember, in the final analysis it is not what I think that counts, it is what you believe, what your imagination tells you, that will determine your personal path to finding more faith in God.

When we strip away the inhibitions that have kept us from feeling like People of Faith we will be able to see things more clearly. We will be able to make decisions on a more reasoned basis. We will be able to see more clearly the pathway to faith in God. Let’s start using our imagination so that we can learn to cope with the troubles of our time.

Your imagination is really a reflection of what you truly think deep down in your soul. Unlocking your imagination enables you to catch a glimpse of what your true feelings of faith are. You can use your imagination to help you find your faith. You can use it to begin building your faith.

Take ‘little leaps’ of faith that will allow you to become a Person of Faith.

Most people live their lives according to a strict code of conduct instilled upon us by our traditions and value system. Most of this is good, but it limits our ability to look outside a set framework of beliefs to find more faith. Strip away these inhibitions. Unlock your imagination. Be willing to question the true nature of your faith. It could be the beginning of finding more faith. Use your imagination to help you expand your concept of faith. Use your imagination to reinforce the basic tenants of your faith. Learn to let your imagination help you to expand your horizons.

Take the ‘little leap’ of faith that shows you how to believe in what you cannot see or understand.

When you unlock your imagination you will soon discover that you are a good and worthwhile person who has good thoughts, means well, tries to help others, and wants to do something meaningful with your life. You will start to feel better about yourself, and learn to be more accepting of the fact that you are entitled to believe in God. You will begin to find more Faith. How can you hope to believe in God if you do not believe in yourself? You were made in his image, weren’t you? Use your imagination to help you discover this miracle of faith.

Sometimes it helps to invent a magical friend to symbolize your imagination. That’s what I did when I invented Glorious the nonsectarian Magic Genie Faith Builder. You may want to use your imagination to create your own symbol of faith, your own Faith Patch, to help make your journey to faith easier and help you strip away your inhibitions. I know what your thinking. I’ve been listening. Don’t feel silly. Unlock your imagination and invent your own symbol of faith. It could make your journey to faith so much easier. My best friend Glorious the Magic Genie told me so.

Search For God

Search For God

Search For God

How does one go about searching for the God of our dreams?

You know what I’m talking about: the God that will solve all our problems, the one that will answer our questions and give us peace of mind, the God that will keep us safe and secure.

I think we have to search for God one step at a time. The first step might be to open our hearts to Him so that we can receive His mercy and kindness.

Another action we can take is to be kind and caring to other people, as we would have God be kind to and care about us.

Maybe we have to learn to search for God in new places. Perhaps it is a matter of using our imaginations to help us divine a new way to find God.

Can you imagine that God is always with you and that you don’t really have to search for Him at all? Maybe what we have to do is to start by accepting His presence.

Perhaps if we imagine that God is standing right next to us we will begin to understand how to act with God in our midst. Maybe it is a matter of accepting that He calls upon us to be all that we can be, and to do good works. I like to image that this is the way things will be in God’s presence, what about you?

Can you conceive of how wonderful and inspired you will feel when you discover that your search for God may be over, that He was with you all the time?

In my dreams, in my imagination, I feel Him near me. It gives me peace of mind. It allows me to consider myself a person of faith. It gives me the inspiration to go on with my life. What about you, is your search for God almost over? Can you feel His grace? Can you accept that you are in His presence? Perhaps what we have to do is to accept the fact that He is always with us. Sometimes we have to use a little imagination to believe in what we cannot see or understand. Sometimes we just have to believe to make it so.

It's All Part Of God's Creation

Search For God

It’s All Part Of God’s Creation

That’s right, even what we speak of as the evolution of nature is part of God’s grand design. It is up to us to see it through His eyes.

That’s why even scientists believe in God. They can find no other way to explain the universe except through the fact of the glory of God. All the rest is just theory.

It is up to us to believe in the words of God. It is up to us to believe in the creation of the world and of us as told in the bible. It is up to us to believe in the words of the Lord if we want to find the pathway to Heaven.

How else can we explain the creation of the universe if not for God?

Be secure that God loves us.

It is up to us to listen to God’s words of wisdom, kindness, and love if we want to be protected by his graciousness.

Renew your faith in God and you renew your own creation.

Strengthen your faith in God and you will know his mercy.

How else can we explain the blessings we have received if not for God?

How else can we explain the bounty and fullness of our lives?

Ask yourself where you would be if not for God and his grand design?

We are all part of his grand design.

We are all products of his kindness and mercy.

We are all part of God’s divine purpose.

Let the facts of God’s creation speak for themselves. Let the faithful see the hand of God in nature. Let the facts of evolution be reflected in his words of wisdom.

We are all part of God’s grand design.

Through our faith, we can enjoy his mercy.

Through our faith we can witness his blessing.

Through our faith we can have him always at our side.

Through our faith in him, we can find our way to Heaven.

Let us never forget that God created us as part of his divine purpose.

Through our faith, we can give meaning and purpose to our lives.

Through our faith, we can find divine guidance.

Through our faith, we can reaffirm being part of his marvelous creation.

Global Warming - Will God Help Us Solve The Problem

Search For God

Global Warming – Will God Help Us Solve The Problem?

Orange Groves on the East coast, Palm trees in New Jersey, where is God’s hand in all of this? Are we going to end up like a bunch of fried Bananas?

According to the latest scientific evidence revealed by ABC News and featured in Time Magazine recently, the world we live in may be warming at a dangerously rapid rate due to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, carbon dioxide, and other man made pollutants. Glaciers are melting and our shorelines are in danger of being overrun by water. What else would they be overrun with? At the same time, the sun it is hypothesized, is dying. Well, which is it, are we going to burn up or freeze to death?

Climate change is out of the closet and no longer the stepchild of a minority of do-good environmentalists. Today almost everybody is worried about global warming. What is so bad about things heating up? Are people worried that we are creating an environment more friendly to the devil than to God? I for one am not worried about it. I have faith that God will come to our rescue and save us from ourselves. We may be the cause of carbon emissions, but God is the source of all carbon elements. Thank God for God. Where would we carbon-based elements be without God’s inspiration?

What would be so bad about having fresh orange groves or banana plants growing in New York? Perhaps they could supply the fresh juice some Eastern liberal establishments need to develop a more centered philosophy on the environment as it relates to the economics of an expanding gross national product due to the fruits of our labor. Although over the last fifty years the East has been cooler and the West warmer. There is no evidence to suggest that this anomaly is part of an Eastern liberal conspiracy against the conservative leanings of our heartland or that the trend won’t reverse itself, but then there is no evidence to the contrary. On the other hand if we burn up or freeze to death what will it matter? Who is going to be around to enjoy a man made prosperity whatever the political origins of the underlying economic boom are?

I think it’s all a matter of allowing evolution to take place under God’s good grace. Let’s not underestimate God’s grand design or His capacity to reinvigorate and keep our environment safe for all of humanity. As even the most brilliant of scientists will admit, there are some things we just don’t understand. I believe that there are some things we just have to take on faith.

I was wondering the other day what would be so terrible if the average temperature in the world increased by fifteen degrees over a ten-year period of time. This would mean that in some places we could fry eggs on the sidewalk without the benefit of using cooking gas or electric ovens. Stop and think about how much fuel consumption this warming trend would save.. How much could we then reduce heating fuel emissions into the atmosphere by burning less fossil fuel? Maybe global warming is a self-correcting problem. What would be so bad about having palm trees and coconuts grow in New Jersey. I love coconuts. And as far as our shore lines eroding, I thought we could all use more water to help make the planet flourish. Maybe this is God’s way of improving our natural habitat so that it will offer us a more human friendly environment to say nothing of the aquatic wonders it might do for the diminishing swarms of fish we use to feed ourselves with.

Now lets turn to this big deal people are making about a hole forming in the stratosphere or the ionosphere -- I always get my spheres of influence mixed up -- and the potential danger that ozone depletion in the atmosphere poses to human life due to ultra violet ray poisoning etcetera. Maybe it is time some of us grow a thicker skin and stop worrying about the effect of climate changes in the atmosphere that only God can control. Let’s not forget the potential of the Sun dying. Although none of us reading this article will be around to see it happen, I sure have a ray of hope and do believe that God has taken that possibility into account. Again I am not worried. I firmly believe that God has the capacity to effect change. I hope and pray that my great, great, great, great grandchildren are around to experience the kindness and mercy of His actions.

I think we would all be better served to worry about the catastrophic consequences that nuclear annihilation poses to our society. If we don’t stop nuclear proliferation we may all end up living on oranges, coconuts, and bananas again. That would surely eliminate the freezone emissions from refrigerators and automobile air conditioners, but would definitely put a crimp in any travel arrangements we had in mind in our gas guzzling SUVs as well as eliminate the need for food storage except possibly in caves. Is the return of the primitive within us just around the corner?

At the risk of sounding glib, what’s to worry? We are all in God’s hands. Whatever happens it is His will. I do think that there is a chance that God will give us the inspiration to see the error of our ways before it becomes necessary for Him to make all the adjustments necessary for our survival Himself. Have you thought about asking God how hot it is going to get around here before we come to our senses and start protecting our environment not only from global warming, but also from the threat of nuclear devastation?

Immigration - Can We Use God's Inspiration To Solve The Problem

Search For God

Immigration -- Can We Use God’s Inspiration To Solve The Problem

Is our current policy providing a fertile hunting grounds for terrorists or is the spirit of “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” still alive and well in God’s country?

Our food prices would rise, inflation would set in, unemployment would grow, and our own citizens might become more willing to take low paying jobs again, thus eliminating the need for immigrants altogether except from a do the right thing point of view. What about granting them all amnesty? Amnesty from what? I thought everyone has a right to pursue the American dream.

Perhaps we should install an honor system instead of a wall.

Become Motivated To Find God

Search For God

When was the last time you found yourself really motivated to find God? When did you have finding God on your top ten list of things to do? When was making a search for the God of your dreams a top priority? When was the last time you felt inspired to search for God?

You need to get motivated to find God. You need to understand how important a part God plays in your life. You need to get inspired to find your faith.

You remember what being truly motivated feels like, don’t you.

Sometimes we have to create something special to help inspire us feel wonderful.

In my case I was inspired to create a faith-based Magic Pill to help motivate me to find my faith. Couldn’t we all use a little magic in our lives right now? As a gesture of my faith in my fellow man I have infused this Magic Pill with my faith for all to share if you can believe that. When you infuse it with your faith it will become a unique collectible that may help motivate you in your search for God. It even comes with faith building instructions and a Certificate of Sharing so that you can express your faith in God to a family member or loved one. You can get your own Magic Pill free on my Web site by just clicking on the link on the sidebar titled Find Faith and begin to get motivated to find God.

How Does God Rate In The Polls? Part 5

Search For God

Before we leave the subject of polls about God to their eternal resting place, I think it worth noting that this same poll indicates that young people are much more likely to believe in hell by a ratio of eighty-six percent to sixty-eight percent for those over seventy years old. The same applies to the devil by a ratio of seventy-nine percent to sixty-nine percent. Does this mean that for older Americans their hell raising days are over, or does it mean that the younger generations are hell bent on raising the devil with our established religious traditions? I don’t know. I don’t even know if the younger or older Americans understand their respective positions on hell and the devil any better than those of us caught in the hellish position of being middle aged, which by the way the poll doesn’t cover as an individual age group at all. I leave these weighty interpretations in God’s hands, who, without the benefit of polling statistics, I am sure, will find the grace to interpolate and understand.

The one part of the poll I am really happy about I saved for last. This one makes the whole polling thing worthwhile for me. It shows that fully sixty-nine percent of the population believe that religion plays too small a part in our lives. That’s what I’ve been saying all along.

Before I leave this exercise in my God given right to have opinions on polls about God, I should make note of the fact that Fox News says that their poll was conducted over two days by telephone to over 900 people. What about the rest of the almost three hundred million people in the United States? Don’t we get a say? Has anyone tried polling God for his input lately? I wonder what He would have to say about His poll numbers? I bet He will have the final say.

How Does God Rate In The Polls? Part 4

Search For God

There is an obvious Gender Gap in relationship to these God like polls with women more likely than men to believe in most categories including Miracles by twelve percent and Heaven by eight percent. The one notable exception is that thirty-nine percent of men believe in UFOs verses thirty percent of women. I don’t know what UFOs have to do with God, but my wife tells me that if I don’t get off the subject she is going to send me into outer space. I wonder if she is mad or just wants to give me an opportunity to meet my maker? Please don’t rush me honey, I think I am on a fast track as it is.

Of perhaps more value to this discussion on polls about God is the fact that Fox News says republicans are more likely by eight percent to ‘say’ they believe in God and by fifteen percent in Heaven and by seventeen percent in the devil, while democrats believe in reincarnation by fourteen percent more than republicans. What do they mean when they use the term “say”? Does that mean the republicans don’t really mean it? Why the disparity when if comes to believing in the devil? Are the republicans out to get his vote too? How should we interpret the figures on reincarnation? Does this mean the democrats are hoping they can come back as republicans or just hoping for a comeback? This is all too confusing.

How Does God Rate In The Polls? - Part 3

Search For God

I don’t think it is necessary in discussing polls about the popularity of God to mention that these polls are probably correct plus or minus 3% because I doubt that God is running against anybody. Which makes me stop and wonder why if there is no chance of anyone else but God winning, why would anyone take a poll to begin with? Do you think that the devil has anything to do with this insane desire on the part of certain news organizations to take polls about who does and doesn’t believe in God? Why can’t we leave the poll taking to the atheists? They know who they are, and since they represent such a small and unconvinced percentage (8%) of the population, they should be responsible for paying for these polls in my opinion, or do they have the privilege of invoking minority rights. And whom would they invoke them to anyway? They certainly can’t turn to God, can they?

How Does God Rate In The Polls? - Part 2

Search For God

Of course you can skew the poll results in many different ways depending on how you ask a question and interpret the results. Perhaps this is why the same Fox News poll shows that eighty-five percent of the population believes in Heaven. It is hard to determine if this means that seven percent of those that believe in God don’t think they stand a chance of getting to Heaven (92%-85%=7%) or if they just don’t buy into the whole concept of there being a Heaven, but do believe in God just in case. This same poll shows that eighty-two percent of people believe in miracles. Does this mean that they are part of the vast majority of people who believe it will take a miracle for them to get into Heaven? To make matters worse, while the percentage of people believing in God has stayed relatively constant over the last few years, the percentage believing in the existence of the devil has increased from sixty-three percent to seventy-one percent over roughly the same period of time. I can’t figure out what the hell this part of the poll means. I suppose it is open to interpretation.

How Does God Rate In The Polls Verses THe Devil? - Part 1

Search For God

According to a Fox News poll, ninety-two percent of the population believes in God. This is interesting because the PEW Research Institute has statistics that show that roughly forty-nine percent of the population attends houses of worship on a regular basis and forty-nine percent attend rarely if at all. Evidently God is more popular than organized religion or going to Church. The Gallop Poll and the Harris Poll and an ABC News poll also confirm this, but God’s popularity percentage verses the popularity of going to church varies with each poll. Sometimes I suppose it depends on how the spirit moves you or what and who you think that God is. Unfortunately seventy-one percent of the population believes that the devil exists, but this doesn’t mean he is popular – thank God.

Iraq - Is it God's war? - Part 3

Search For God

Iraq - Is it God's war? - part 2

Search For God

I always thought that both Christian and Muslim religions preach love and kindness for other people.

Recent polls indicate that more than seventy percent of the American public doesn’t believe in the war with Iraq. The cost of the war includes twenty-three hundred Americans killed, seventeen thousand wounded, and more than thirty thousand Iraqis killed.

Approximately eighty percent of Iraqis want American forces out of their country.

Iraq - Is it God's war?

Search For God

Is bringing democracy to Iraq in accordance with God’s wishes? I’ve heard a lot about God’s Kingdom, but I never heard anyone call it God’s parliament or congress. When did the concept of spreading democracy and freedom in the Middle East become the basis for faith in the righteousness of going to war? What has made this a valid replacement for stopping weapons of mass destruction? When did God sanction the concept of a preemptive war to protect American interests? When did this war become God’s will?

I think that people that go to war usually believe that they have God on their side no matter which side they are on. But does God actually take sides in conflicts that involve different philosophies or religious beliefs? Aren’t we all God’s children? Why would He want us to fight with and kill each other?

Can A Patch Of Faith Make Miracles Happen?

Search For God

Have you ever wondered how miracles happen? To my way of thinking they are an act of God.

Maybe if we had enough faith in God, we could help the miracle of his grace and kindness redound to our benefit. Maybe through faith, in our own small way, we could help make God’s miracles happen.

Sometimes it’s hard to have faith in what we cannot see or understand. That’s why I have used my imagination to create a patch of faith. I use it to symbolize my faith in God.

In order to create a symbol of faith, you have to strip away your inhibitions and use your imagination. Your own personal patch of faith can be anything from an imaginary friend to an object such as an actual patch.

Stop using temporary measures to deal with your weaknesses. Stop using chemical patches to pull yourself together. Find the faith to imagine the only patch you will ever need – a patch of faith.

The Religious Significance of Faith-based Politics

The middle class is caught in a faith- based tax conundrum.

The middle class hasn’t benefited from recent tax cuts. Their net disposable income has decreased about two percent over the last two years during a time of sustained economic growth. Are only the rich entitled to be the beneficiaries of faith-based economic policies?

The American people are being told not to worry, that God will help us solve our economic problems, but I believe that God helps those who at least try and help themselves. If we are going to leave the success of our economic policies to God shouldn’t we give Him a vote?

It isn’t God who gave us an eight trillion dollar accumulated deficit. It isn’t God who is forcing our children to inherit a per capita debt of more than twenty-five thousand dollars each. It is the philosophy of using the excuse that “God will help us overcome” that has led us to a crisis of confidence on the part of the public. Maybe they understand something that our leaders have apparently forgotten -- God helps those that help themselves. Who put God in charge of our national debt? I thought that was supposed to be our problem?

Since when did feeding the poor and the homeless become the total responsibility of the Churches in this country? Did they volunteer for this assignment? Is this an abdication of the government’s responsibility? Who appointed charitable organizations as the surrogate government bureaucracy to oversee and be responsible for the economic problems of our society? I thought that was our responsibility under a government that inculcated the principal of separation of church and state.

When did the lines get blurred? Who decided that cutting student loans and health care research was a middle class friendly policy designed to cut our national debt? I find it hard to believe that God would decide to make these kind of anti-social cuts so that tax policies that benefit the rich could become entrenched because the administrators of these policies are people of faith. The middle class is caught in the bind of feeling they have to be in favor of these ‘give to the rich tax policies’ or be considered to be lacking in faith. Isn’t this taking the name and intentions of God in vain to justify unsound economic policies? Why assume that God has a social covenant with the current administration regarding economic policy just because they are people of faith.

Isn’t it time to start searching for God’s answer to this dilemma? Hurry, God may be waiting to hear that you are socially responsible.

How to Send an E-mail to God

A lot of us want to have more faith and get closer to God. The question is how do we do this? Maybe we should, strip away our inhibitions, unlock our imaginations, and send an imaginary e-mail to God.

Maybe you could send God an imaginary e-mail in the form of a prayer. After all, God is always interested in hearing our prayers, isn’t he? It is not the type of thing that you have to worry about him opting into. God is always listening.

How would we start? Perhaps the subject line could read, “Dear God hear my prayer.” No I am afraid that would be too long. How about, “Prayer to God” That might do the trick nicely and we would have no fear of spamming the recipient.

I think it is best to leave any request for help to the body of the text. What would you like to ask for? Good health is often a way to go, but I think you need to get more personal and specific then that.

How about telling God that you are tired of patching yourself together with temporary quick fixes to control your weaknesses like smoking, eating, or drinking too much? That should get Gods attention, don’t you think?

I wonder what God would say in an answer to us? Maybe he would tell us to stop trying to patch ourselves together and find more faith so that we could be strong enough to overcome our weaknesses with his help. Maybe we could use our imaginations to develop our own personal faith patch to replace all those other temporary patches and help us deal with our problems. Maybe we could use our faith.

You don’t have to worry about the address or click on the send button in this imaginary e-mail. I believe that God is always interested in hearing our prayers no matter what form they take.

Are you ready to send a message of faith to God?

You don’t have to worry about sending this e-mail to the wrong address because God is always with us and has a universal address. You don’t even have to type out this e-mail on your word processor. You can just think it.

Whatever you do, try and rely on your faith in God to help you overcome your weaknesses. Stop trying to patch yourself together. Try and find more faith so that you can learn to cope with your personal problems and the troubles of our time like terrorism and natural disasters.

Don’t forget to leave your personal signature in your e-mail to God. It’s not that he doesn’t know who you are; it is just that he may be waiting to hear that you are becoming a Person of Faith. It might help for you to mention this in your signiture block.
An example could read something like this:

Your name
Statement that you are becoming a Person of Faith
Statement that you believe in God
Your e-mail address (unnecessary)
Your telephone number (unnecessary)

God knows where to find you.

Are you ready to stop patching yourself together?

Are you ready to become a Person of Faith?

Are you searching for God? Hurry, He may be waiting to hear from you. Send Him an e-mail.
